Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and activity.
2. How Voxt uses cookies
Voxt uses a minimal number of cookies, limited to what is strictly necessary to operate the platform securely.
Essential cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Session cookie (PHPSESSID) |
Keeps you logged in and maintains your session state | Until you close your browser or log out |
| CSRF token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
These cookies are essential for the platform to function. Without them, features like logging in, voting, and posting would not work.
3. What we do not use
Voxt does not use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Third-party tracking cookies
- Analytics cookies from external providers
- Social media tracking pixels
We believe civic engagement platforms should respect user privacy by default.
4. Third-party services
Voxt loads the following external resources:
- Google Fonts — to display the Inter and Public Sans typefaces. Google may set cookies or collect limited data as described in their privacy policy.
- Bootstrap CDN — to load the Bootstrap CSS and JavaScript framework. The CDN provider may log access requests.
We do not control cookies set by these third parties. If this concerns you, consider using a browser extension that blocks third-party requests.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Block all cookies — this will prevent you from logging in to Voxt
- Block third-party cookies — Voxt will continue to work normally
- Delete cookies — you will be logged out and will need to sign in again
Most browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences in their settings or privacy section.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
7. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact privacy@voxt.uk.
