Community Standards

Last updated: 1 January 2026

Voxt exists to support informed, respectful civic discourse. These standards apply to all users and all content shared on the platform.

1. Respectful Debate

We welcome disagreement — it is fundamental to democracy. However, all contributions must be respectful of others. You should:

  • Address the argument, not the person. Criticise ideas, not individuals.
  • Assume good faith. Others may hold different views for legitimate reasons.
  • Avoid personal attacks, name-calling, and inflammatory language.
  • Listen as well as speak. Civic engagement is a dialogue, not a monologue.

2. Honesty and Accuracy

  • Be truthful. Do not knowingly spread misinformation or disinformation.
  • Cite sources where possible, especially for factual claims.
  • Acknowledge uncertainty. It is fine to say "I think" or "I'm not sure".
  • Correct yourself if you discover an error in something you have posted.

3. No Hate Speech or Discrimination

Content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited. This includes slurs, stereotypes, and dehumanising language.

4. No Harassment or Threats

Do not target, bully, intimidate, or threaten any individual or group. This includes persistent unwanted contact, doxxing (sharing private information), and encouraging others to harass someone.

5. No Spam or Manipulation

  • Do not post repetitive, off-topic, or promotional content.
  • Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate votes or polls.
  • Do not use automated tools to generate content or responses.

6. Safeguarding

Voxt is used by people of all ages, including young people in school settings. All users must be mindful of this. Content that is sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a general audience is not permitted.

7. Reporting Violations

If you see content that violates these standards, please use the Report button on the relevant item. Our moderation team reviews reports and takes action in accordance with these standards and our Terms of Use.

8. Consequences

Violations may result in:

  • Content removal.
  • Points deduction.
  • Temporary suspension of participation privileges.
  • Permanent account suspension for serious or repeated violations.

9. Our Commitment

Voxt is committed to being a fair, transparent, and inclusive platform. We apply these standards equally regardless of political viewpoint. Our goal is not to censor opinion but to maintain a space where productive civic conversation can thrive.
